Man Utd boss eyeing up shock move for Premier League defender
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is understood to be keen on signing West Ham United defender Winston Reid during the winter transfer window.
The Red Devils are currently in a defensive crisis following injuries to a number of first-choice defenders, and were recently forced to hand a debut to highly-rated Paddy McNair at the heart of the defence.
According to The Mail, the Hammers could decide to sell off their star asset this winter rather than losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
It is also understood that the London club would accept offers in the region of £8m for the New Zealand international.
