Chelsea in pole position to sign Barca defender

Chelsea are considered front-runners to land the signature of Barcelona defender Daniel Alves, according to a Brazilian source.

The talented full-back has recently revealed that he will leave the Catalan giants at the end of the season, with a move to the Premier League on top of his agenda.

According to Brazilian newspaper O Globo, Barca boss Luis Enrique wants to cash in on the veteran defender rather than losing him on a Bosman transfer next summer.

Liverpool and Manchester City have also been linked with the player's services.
