Arsenal closing in on Dortmund star

Arsenal are reportedly close to agreeing an offer for Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels.

The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is understood to be keen on signing a top-class centre-back in the January transfer window, and considers the German international as his top transfer target.

According to Metro, the North London club are in advanced talks with Dortmund, and are close to sealing a £31.5m for the World Cup winner.

In spite of interest from Manchester United, Arsenal are considered as front-runners to seal the player's services.

Arsenal host Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
