Man Utd plot January move for Ron Vlaar

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is reportedly keen on signing up defender Ron Vlaar from Aston Villa in the winter transfer window.

The Red Devils boss has been forced to ring in the changes in the first-team due to injuries and poor form from his defenders.

According to The Mirror, Van Gaal has identified Vlaar as the perfect fit to solve the club's defensive crisis and will make a move for the Dutch defender when the transfer window reopens in January.

The report adds that Villa could offload the 29-year-old in the New Year rather than losing him for nothing next summer.
