Celtic to step up interest for Lassana Diarra?

Scottish champions Celtic are believed to be interested in signing midfielder Lassana Diarra, in spite of his alleged difficulties with his former club Lokomotiv Moscow.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder was understood to be closing in on a short-term deal at Celtic until the end of the season, until his former employees refused to reveal his registration details.

According to Goal.com, Celtic will ask the interference from the Scottish League to resolve the player's paperwork ahead of a potential contract at the club.

Newcastle United have also been associated with Diarra's services in recent weeks.
