New York City want former Chelsea defender

AS Roma defender Ashley Cole could follow former Chelsea teammate Frank Lampard in joining New York City this winter, according to The People.

The former Blues defender joined the Capital outfit in the summer, and has since then failed to settle to the style of play in the Serie A.

New MLS franchise New York City are believed be keen on signing up top-class players in the New Year in order to make an impression in their first season.

The People claims that the MLS outfit consider Cole as the perfect fit for the left-back spot, and will make a move for his services in January.
