Chelsea to meet release clause of Spanish sensation?

Chelsea are looking at the prospect of landing the signature of Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke in January, The Express reports.

The Spain international has been heavily associated with a switch away from the Basque outfit, with Barcelona considered as his next destination.

According to The Express, the Blues are believed to be keen on landing the 22-year-old's signature and will trigger his release clause which currently stands at £48m.

However, they are likely to face competition from league rivals Manchester City, who are monitoring the transfer situation.

Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League table.
