Schalke to sign Man City defender Matija Nastasic

Serbia international Matija Nastasic will wrap up a transfer from Manchester City to join Roberto di Matteo's side Schalke. Matija Nastasic has found himself out in the cold in recent months and is hoping to make a transfer to the Bundesliga.

Nastasic, who has 16 caps for his country, will fly to Germany for talks next week as Schalke have already agreed an 8 million fee with City for the player.

The 21-year-old, who arrived from Fiorentina in 2012, has failed to dislodge the likes of Vincent Kompany from the Citizens' first team and will be allowed to transfer elsewhere.

Nastasic has yet to play a Premier League game this season, but was an important part of City's title winning squad in the 2013-14 league campaign.
