Aston Villa to sign Carles Gil

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert will wrap up a deal for Valencia star Carles Gil this week. The Birmingham club will pay a reported 5 million euros for Gil's signature.

The 22-year-old attacker has been with Valencia for two years but has failed to force his way into Los Che's first team and will now be allowed to leave the Mestella.

Gil spent two seasons on loan at Spanish club Elche, where he scored an impressive 5 goals in 64 games from midfield. The 5 foot 7 playmaker will sign a three year contract at Villa Park.
