Liverpool confident of Milner signing

Liverpool are confident of securing the services of Manchester City midfielder James Milner on a free transfer next summer.

The England international's current deal at the Etihad expires at the end of the season, and talks have stalled regarding a contract extension.

City boss Manuel Pellegrini has recently hinted that he would like Milner to commit his long-term future to the club.

However, reports now reveal that the Reds are sure of signing up the former Aston Villa man for nothing in the summer.

Milner has scored three goals in 27 games for City this season.
