Matija Nastasic joins Schalke on permanent deal

Schalke 04 has confirmed that signing of Serbian defender Matija Nastasic on a permanent deal from Manchester City.

The talented centre-back joined the German giants from City on a temporary basis in January, and has since produced a string of impressive performances for the Bundesliga outfit.

Schalke have now revealed via their official twitter account that they have activated the transfer clause which would allow them to sign the 21-year-old defender on a permanent contract.

Nastasic has made nine appearances during his time at the Veltins-Arena.
