Tottenham Hotspur sign Kevin Wimmer

Spurs have began their squad overhaul by signing Cologne central defender Kevin Wimmer.

The 23-year-old was on the radar of the North London outfit since January, and a £4.25m deal has now been finalized for the Austria international.

It is also understood the signing of Wimmer could be the first in many to come, with manager Mauricio Pochettino likely to make wholesale changes to his squad ahead of the next campaign.

Wimmer will join up with Spurs on June 1, and thereby won't take part in the club's end of season friendlies in Malaysia and Australia.
