Liverpool confident of signing La Liga sensation

Liverpool are readying a bid for Atletico Madrid star Mario Mandzukic, according to reports.

The Croatian international has had a great spell at the Basque outfit having 20 goals in all competitions in his debut campaign.

However, Mandzukic has had a fall out with manager Diego Simeone, and this is likely to lead to his imminent departure from Vicente Calderon at the end of the season.

Reports in Spain reveal that Atleti will look to sign either Karim Benzema or Gonzalo Higuain as his replacement.

It is further added that the Reds look favourites to sign up the former Bayern star during the summer transfer window.
