Aston Villa to announce Micah Richards signing next week

Aston Villa are expected to unveil the signing of former Manchester City defender Micah Richards next week, according to reports.

The England international is understood to have been in negotiations with the Villans over the past few days, following his release from the Citizens.

Richards will have a medical at Villa on Tuesday, ahead of his proposed move to the Midlands.

The talented defender also spoke fondly of his time at the Etihad.

"I just wanted to thank the City fans for the amazing support they've given me." He said."City's been like a family to me and I wish everyone the best of luck for next season and the coming years."
