Youssouf Mulumbu set for Aston Villa?

Former West Bromwich Albion defensive midfielder could be set for a shock free transfer to WBA's bitter rivals Aston Villa. Mulumbu is currently without a club.

The midfielder was released by West Brom at the end of last season, with manager Tony Pulis deciding against offering improves terms to Mulumbu. The midfielder, who has previously attracted the interest of North London side Arsenal, wants to stay in the Premier League and has instructed his representatives to do everything they can to ensure a top flight free transfer move. German team VfB Stuttgart and Italian side Sampdoria have also been in contact with Mulumbu but the midfielder is known to favour a move to an English speaking country.
