Southampton agree Cedric Soares deal

Southampton have agreed a £3.5m bid to sign Sporting Lisbon defender Cedric Soares.

The 23-year-old was associated with a move to the South Coast over the past week.

Southampton were understood to be keen on signing Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson, but the Gunners' reluctance to let the talented defender leave on a permanent basis.

According to The Mirror, Soares will join up with the Hampshire outfit after undergoing a medical, and his arrival could see Nathaniel Clyne imminent exit from St.Mary's.
