Tottenham Hotspur to bid for James McCarthy

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make a summer offer for Everton midfielder James McCarthy, according to reports.

The Republic of Ireland international has been a consistent performer for the Toffees since his move from Wigan Athletic in 2013.

However, the 24-year-old could seek a move away from Goodison Park this summer, having seen the club fail to progress under Roberto Martinez in recent seasons.

According to The Mirror, McCarthy will be the subject of a £20m bid from Spurs in the upcoming days.

McCarthy has made 76 appearances for the Toffees till now.
