Liverpool lead chase for Jordan Veretout

Liverpool are leading the pursuit of highly rated Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout, according to a French source.

The 22-year-old is thought to have attracted interest from Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino following an excellent season with the Ligue 1 outfit.

French daily L'Equipe cites that Veretout's advisers are not keen on a move to Spurs due to the vast array of midfield talent at White Hart Lane.

It is added that the Reds have now emerged as favourites to land the player's services in the summer.

Veretout is thought to be close to a call-up to the French national side ahead of Euro 16.
