Southampton to seal Virgil van Dijk deal

Southampton are inching closer to the signing of Celtic defender Virgin van Dijk, according to reports.

The Netherlands international has been long linked with a move to the Premier League, with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool interested in his signature.

However, Saints boss Ronald Koeman is understood to be a huge admirer of his counterpart, and is keen to team him up alongside Jose Fonte in the heart of the defence.

According to De Telegraaf, the South Coast side are favourites to sign up the talented centre-back in a £9m deal.

Van Dijk has made 110 appearances for the Scottish champions till date.
