Matejovsky joins Reading

Reading have signed Czech Republic international Marek Matejovsky. The 26-year-old midfield playmaker will join the club from FK Mlada Boleslav in a deal worth more than £1million.

"The Premier League is the world's best league. I know where I am going; I have already arranged the housing situation.

"I am leaving for England today together with my family. I hope I will show I can play football well," Matejovsky told Sport.cz.

He was once linked with a move to Liverpool, but Steve Coppell looks to have won the chase for the talented central midfielder who is expected to play for his country in this summer’s European Championships.
