Newcastle United eye Hamburg forward

Newcastle United are reportedly keeping tabs on Hamburg striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga, with a view to a January offer for his services.

The Magpies are thought to be short of striking options in spite of signing Alexandr Mitrovic from Anderlecht this summer.

According to the Chronicle, the Tyneside outfit will look to address the issue in the New Year by making a move for 23-year-old Lasogga.

It is added that the club are also keen on Wolfsburg's Bas Dost, but prizing away the player from the Bundesliga side would be a hefty task.
