Liverpool plan Lucas Leiva-Jeremy Menez swap

Liverpool are understood to be open to the prospect of offering midfielder Lucas Leiva in a straight exchange for AC Milan star Jeremy Menez.

The Brazil international was believed to be heading to Besiktas during the final days of the transfer window, until manager Brendan Rodgers called off on the proposed transfer.

According to The Mirror, the Merseyside giants are ready to swoop for Rossoneri forward Menez in a deal which could see Leiva move in the other direction.

Menez scored 16 goals for the Rossoneri in all competitions last season.
