West Ham lead Pato chase

West Ham United are thought to be in pole position to land the services of Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato in the New Year.

The 26-year-old is currently plying his trade for Sao Paolo on loan from Corinthians.

The Hammers have had a fantastic start to their league campaign mainly due to their excellent recruitment over the summer.

According to Sport Mediaset, the East Londoners are in a position to attract top talents to the club in the winter transfer window.

It is added that the Hammers could entice Pato into a move to the Premier League once his loan spell expires at the end of December.

Slaven Bilic's side are currently third in the league standings with 20 points.
