Fernandes back to Everton

After falling out of favour under Ronald Koeman at Valencia, Manuel Fernandes could be set for a shock return to Everton under David Moyes after the club moved a step closer to completing a loan move.

Kenwright admitted a deal was close and that the player was due to undergo a medical.

"I think he will be a good signing and we are very pleased to get him back as he was very much part of the Everton family," added Kenwright.

"He phoned David Moyes on the weekend and said he can't wait to get back.

"It is a good loan signing for us."
