Shakhtar Donetsk star open to Chelsea move

Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Alex Teixeira has revealed his desire to join Chelsea in the winter transfer window.

The Blues are thought to be lining up a January move for the 25-year-old, who has been in sensation form for the Ukrainian giants.

Teixeira has amassed an impressive tally of 16 goals in 11 league appearances this term despite operating in midfield, and this has attracted attention from some of Europe's elite clubs.

According to Brazilian daily O Globo, the talented attacker is now set to follow the likes of Luiz Adriano and Douglas Costa in the pursuit of a big club move.

“There are still speculations, but I am very happy that a club like Chelsea are interested in my services,” he told O Globo.

“It would be great to play in the Premier League and, if the transfer takes place in January, it would be excellent.” 

Teixeira has the versatility to operate on either wing in addition to his attacking midfield role.
