Sam Allardyce dismisses Defoe exit talks
Sam Allardyce dismisses Defoe exit talks
Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce has insisted that he has no desire of offloading striker Jermaine Defoe in the January transfer window.
Recent reports had suggested that the former Spurs man could be heading for the exit door following the lack of regular playing time under Allardyce.
However, things panned out differently as Defoe started and scored for his side in the 1-0 win at Crystal Palace on Monday night.
Allardyce has now revealed that Defoe remains in his plans for the future, and Liam Bridcutt will be the sole player to leave the club in the New Year.
Defoe has scored seven goals for the Wearsiders this campaign.
