Tottenham Hotspur to land Axel Witsel?

Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be pole position to land Zenit St.Petersburg star Axel Witsel, according to reports.

The Belgian international is expected to seek a fresh challenge away from Russia in the New Year.

Spurs have been long-time admirers of the talented attacker, and look favourites to acquire his services when the transfer window reopens in January, Calciomercato reports.

It is added that Serie A side AC Milan will offer make a bid of their own for the hard working midfielder.

Witsel is said to have rejected a loan move to the Rossoneri over the summer.
