John Obi Mikel linked with Galatasaray

Turkish giants Galatasaray have reportedly planned a January bid for Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.

The Nigerian international has struggled to seal a regular starting role at Jose Mourinho this season, and this has led to claims that he may seek a new club in the next transfer window.

Takvim reports that Gala will make a £5.7m bid for the talented enforcer, who has just 18 months left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge.

Adding to this, the Istanbul side may face stiff competition from league rivals Besiktas, who had shown interest in the 28-year-old last summer.

Mikel joined the Blues from Norwegian side Lyn way back in 2006.
