Emmanuel Adebayor in Chelsea talks

Free agent Emmanuel Adebayor is reportedly discussing a contract with Premier League strugglers Chelsea.

The Togo international has been barred from joining a new club until the New Year, as he was released from Tottenham Hotspur after the summer transfer deadline.

It had been recently suggested that the former Spurs man could be heading back to England with minnows Watford, but The Mirror claims that the Premier League holders are in negotiations with the experienced striker.

Adebayor is known for his goal-scoring exploits and his arrival could well provide a vital boost to the club's dismal league campaign.

Chelsea are currently placed 16th in the league, a point adrift of the drop zone.
