Chelsea confirm Guus Hiddink as interim boss
Chelsea have confirmed that Guus Hiddink will take over as the club's head coach for the remainder of the season.
The Blues were expected to find an immediate replacement for manager Jose Mourinho, who was relieved from his duties earlier this week.
Hiddink, who had previously guided the Blues to an FA Cup win in 2009, has now been appointed for a second spell at the helm.
"I am excited to return to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world but is not where it should be at the moment. However, I am sure we can all turn this season around." the 69-year-old told the club's official website following his arrival.
"I am looking forward to working with the players and staff at this great club and especially renewing my wonderful relationship with the Chelsea fans."
Hiddink was on the stands as the Blues trumped Sunderland by a 3-1 scoreline in the Premier League on Saturday.
