Chelsea eye shock Benteke swoop

Chelsea are weighing up a surprise move for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, according to reports.

The Belgian international joined the Reds last summer following an impressive spell with fellow Premier League side Aston Villa.

According to The People, Blues hierarchy have added Benteke to their list of targets for the January transfer window

In addition to this, the Premier League holders are concerned with the lack of goals upfront, and have made the signing of a new striker their top priority for the New Year.

Guus Hiddink's Chelsea are currently placed 15th in the league standings with 18 points.
