Schalke eye Inler loan

Schalke 04 are weighing up a temporary move for Leicester City midfielder Gokhan Inler.

The Swiss international joined the Foxes from Napoli in the summer as a replacement for Esteban Cambiasso.

However, he has since then struggled to make himself a regular in the starting setup with manager Claudio Ranieri preferring the likes of Ngolo Kante, Danny Drinkwater and Andy King ahead of him in the pecking order.

German sources reveal that Schalke will seek to tie up a short-term move for the 31-year-old with an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the season.

Inler has made just five league appearances for his club this term.
