Newcastle United to splash cash on Berahino

Newcastle United are set to revive their interest in West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino.

The 22-year-old had been the subject of multiple bids from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, but the Baggies were firm in their desire to keep hold of the talented marksman.

Since then, Berahino has played in his shadow, and this has led to suggestions that he may seek a fresh challenge in the New Year.

According to The Mail, the Magpies are expected to lodge a bid of around £18m for Burundian-born striker, who is said to be unsettled at the Hawthorns.

Berahino has not started a league game for over two months.
