Chelsea to bid for Berahino

Chelsea are the latest side to express interest in wantaway West Brom striker Saido Berahino.

The 22-year-old was the subject of multiple bids from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, but the Baggies hierarchy were firm in their bid to keep hold of their star man.

Since then, Berahino has played in his shadow thus leading to speculation that he may seek a fresh challenge in the New Year.

The Express and Star claims that Blues boss Guus Hiddink is eager to bring in a new striker in the quest to improve on the club's current league position.

It is added that the Blues are set to rival Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in the pursuit of the former England under-21 international.

Berahino has not started a league game in over two months.
