Atletico Madrid keen on Nicolas Gaitan

Atletico Madrid are eager to acquire the services of Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan before the winter transfer deadline.

The Basque outfit are said to be desperate to bring in a new attacker, with their 18-month transfer ban set to be active after the transfer window.

Spanish source Fichajes claims that Diego Simeone's side will look to wrap up the signature of Benfica star Gaitan this month. It is added that Atleti would have to cough up a sum of around £33m to lure Benfica into the player's sale.

Premier League giants Manchester United have been previously linked with the Argentina international.
