Louis van Gaal receives Man Utd backing

Dutch coach Louis van Gaal has received backing from Manchester United's board. The decorated coach has struggled to reverse the fortunes of the Old Trafford side.

Defeat against Southampton last weekend proved yet another disappointment for the coach and there had been reports that van Gaal had offered his resignation last weekend. However, it is understood that United have offered their full backing to the under fire coach for now.
