Chelsea to lodge Higuain bid

Chelsea will step up their efforts to sign Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, should Diego Costa leave the club at the end of the season.

Blues centre-forward Costa has been recently linked with a return to La Liga with former club Atletico Madrid.

Spanish outlet Fichajes understands that the Blues will revive their interest in long-term target Higuain, if Costa decides on a summer move back to his homeland.

It is also known that the Premier League holders had failed with a secret bid for the Argentine last month, as the player was unwilling to share his goalscoring duties with Costa.

Higuain has previously been linked with a move to London rivals Arsenal.
