Verratti extends PSG stay
Italy international Marco Verratti has signed a new long-term deal at Paris Saint-Germain.
The 23-year-old has penned an extension that will keep him at Les Parisiens until the summer of 2020.
Speculation had claimed that the talented midfielder could seek a fresh challenge in the summer with the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona deemed to be interested in his services.
However, Verratti has put cold water to rumours by committing his future to the Ligue 1 holders.
"I am very happy to extend my contract with Paris Saint-Germain," he told the club's official website. "I would like to thank the club for the confidence they have placed in me since I joined the club."
Verratti joined Les Parisiens from Pescara in 2012.
