Juan Mata wants Man Utd extension
Spain international Juan Mata is eager to sign a new long-term contract at Manchester United, sources reveal. The 27-year-old has been a key member of the first-team since his move from Chelsea two years ago.
Mata has been recently linked with a move back to his homeland following a good showing for the Red Devils in the Premier League this term.
However, a report from The Star claims that the talented playmaker is ready to snub interest from La Liga in a bid to secure his long-term future at Old Trafford.
It is also known that the player will begin talks with the club's hierarchy in the summer over a possible extension.
The Spaniard will return to action for his side's midweek clash against Liverpool in the Europa League following a domestic suspension in the FA Cup.
Mata has two years left on his existing deal at United.
