Arsenal boss plays down Mahrez link

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that the club are not in the running to sign Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez this summer.

The 25-year-old has had a splendid season in the Premier League, and this has kept the Foxes at the top of the summit with just four games to play.

It was earlier reported that the Gunners could make a summer approach for the player, but Wenger has rebuffed the claims.

"No, even if it was I wouldn't talk about it this stage of the season." he told reporters during Wednesday's press conference.

The Gunners are expected to bring in fresh faces in the summer transfer window following yet another average spell in the top flight.
