Man Utd line up Ezequeil Garay bid

Manchester United are back in the race to sign long-term target and Zenit St.Petersburg defender Ezequeil Garay. The 29-year-old had been linked with a move to Old Trafford during his time at Benfica.

Garay was touted to join the Red Devils two seasons ago, before he linked up with Russian giants Zenit St.Petersburg. He has since been a consistent performer for his club, and this has kept them in and around the European places.

Italian source Calciomercato suggests that the Mancunian giants could revive their interest in the Argentine as they seek to bring in a suitable partner for Chris Smalling in the heart of defence this summer.

Zenit are willing to cash in on their star defender provided any club match their £18m asking price.

The experienced centre-back has earned 32 caps with his national side.
