Thomas Vermaelen to AS Roma?
Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen is reportedly the subject of interest from Italian giants AS Roma. The Belgian international joined the Spanish champions from Arsenal in 2014.
The 30-year-old has struggled to firm a regular place at the Catalan outfit with injuries and lack of fitness playing a key part.
Gazzetta dello Sport says Vermaelen is free to leave Camp Nou over the summer after manager Luis Enrique decided to cash in on his services.
The Giallorossi are currently heading the queue for the player, who could be available for as less as £6m this summer.
Liverpool and former club Arsenal have also been credited with interest for the versatile defender.
Vermaelen has appeared in just 21 outings for Barca till date. He was recently part of the Marc Wilmots' side that reached the quarter-final stage of Euro 2016.
