Emre Can wants 'Gerrard' Role

Liverpool's midfield Dynamo Emre Can has revealed he wants a leadership role next season.

The Germany international, who looks to have almost certainly cemented his place in the heart of midfield for next season, as expressed his desire to be the new Captain Fantastic. Can was quoted saying by the Liverpool Echo, "I can say I'm a leader but you have to show it. Of course we have other leaders like Hendo or Milner. We all want to do it. I am like that. I want to be the one pushing the team on of course. As I said, I want to show that to everyone."

Can looks to have nailed his position for the coming season, after vastly improving since Jurgen Klopps arrival. The young midfielder as shown just what he's capable of over the last 9 months with some energetic displays. He as one hell of an engine from the first minute to the last and he as shown he as a very good all round game, from his defensive qualities to his ability to open up a defence with that killer pass. The most exciting part of this is that  he really isn't the finished article and he is getting better all the time. You can't help but wonder if he is actually going to be our next Stevie G. Only time will tell, but I'm expecting a very big year for Mr Can.
