Davide Santon undergoing West Ham medical
Inter Milan defender Davide Santon is nearing a temporary switch to West Ham United. The Hammers will have the option to turning the deal into a permanent one next summer.
Santon was previously tipped to join Sunderland before a contract disagreement broke down the deal.
Sky Italia says the Hammers have agreed a season-long loan for the player with an obligation to buy for £4.9m in 12 months' time.
The report adds that the Italian has travelled to the English capital to undergo a series of medical tests and discuss terms over his contract.
The 25-year-old was previously in the ranks of Newcastle United before he rejoined Inter Milan in January 2015.
Santon is capable of playing on either side of the central defenders, and is likely to fill in for left-back Aaron Cresswell, who has been ruled out for four months with a knee injury.
