Mesut Ozil open to Real Madrid return?
Mesut Ozil would consider leaving Arsenal this summer, should he receive an offer from former club Real Madrid. The German international joined the Gunners from Los Blancos in the summer of 2014.
The 27-year-old had his best season in the Premier League last term, netting six goals and 19 assists, but this was not enough to keep the Gunners in the title race.
According to Germany daily Bild, the 27-year-old has slowed down negotiations over a fresh contract as he seeks a possible return to the Bernabeu this month.
Ozil currently has two years left in his contract, and a move back to the European champions would be relishing, given he is in the prime of his career.
The midfielder is likely to miss the Gunners' opener against Liverpool as he has just returned to pre-season training following his exploits for Germany at the European championships.
