Tottenham lodge bid for Adrien Silva

Tottenham have submitted a formal offer for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva. The 27-year-old has caught the eye of several clubs following his impressive showing at the European championships.

According to French source L'Equipe, Spurs have tabled a £12m bid for the attacker, who is also on the radar of Everton.

Silva appeared in four outings for Portugal as they lifted the Euro 2016 title in France - the first major honour in the nation's history.

He also netted eight goals in the Primeira Liga last term as his side finished runners-up to Benfica by a margin of just two points.

Spurs are known to have stepped up their interest in Silva after their move for Georges-Kévin N'Koudou reached a dead end.

Silva has racked over 150 appearances for the Lisbon outfit till date.
