Crystal Palace sign Mathieu Flamini
Crystal Palace have acquired the services of former Arsenal midfielder on a free transfer. The Frenchman was on the search for a fresh club after he was released from the Emirates last term.
Flamini had received offers from his homeland as well as Turkey over the summer, but his intention was primarily to remain in the top flight.
"Crystal Palace is a very ambitious club with great players and I am looking forward to being part of that squad," he told the Eagles' official website shortly after his move.
"It is a very interesting challenge for me and I am very excited to be here. I have had chance to discuss the move here with Alan Pardew and he really helped me make my decision."
The 32-year-old has been allotted a place in the Alan Pardew's Premier League squad, and will wear the number four shirt during the ongoing campaign.
He becomes the second ex-Arsenal player to pen a contract this week with Nicklas Bendtner having sealed a Bosman switch to Nottingham Forest yesterday.
