Man Utd face Man City fight for Fabinho
Manchester United will have a battle in their hands to land Fabinho after arch-rivals Manchester City joined the pursuit for the Monaco full-back.
The Brazil international was strongly tipped to join the Red Devils in the summer before Monaco slapped a hefty price tag on his services.
According to The Sun, Pep Guardiola is prepared to lodge a bid of his own for Fabinho as he seeks to provide a solution to his club's ailing defence.
Manchester United still remain in the chase for the right-back, but a move depends on whether they manage to offload Matteo Darmian in the January transfer window.
Monaco tied their asset to a fresh five-year deal last month, and it is thought that they would only accept offers in excess of £36m for his sale in the New Year. Fabinho has notched over 160 outings for the Principality outfit since his move from Rio Ave in 2013. He was on loan during his first two seasons at Monaco before a permanent deal was secured in May last year.
