AC Milan plot Di Vrij swoop

Italian side AC Milan are preparing a winter offer for Lazio defender Stefan di Vrij. The Netherlands international is also a transfer target for Chelsea.

The Rossoneri have made a bright start to their league campaign, and currently just two points adrift of leaders Juventus.

Spanish source Mundo Deportivo claims that the San Siro outfit are weighing up a bid for Di Vrij as they see him as the perfect partner to Alessio Romagnoli in the long-term.

However, the player will not come on the cheap with Lazio prepared to offer the Dutchman with a fresh deal which would include a £50m buyout clause.

Sino-Europe, who are about to takeover the famous club, are expected to offer sufficient funds to bolster the squad in the New Year.

AC Milan are currently on a run of four wins in their last five outings, and look good value to challenge for the Scudetto, they previously won in the 2010-2011 season.
