Sevilla join Julian Draxler pursuit
Europa League champions Sevilla have emerged as a surprise contenders to sign wantaway star Julian Draxler from Wolfsburg. The German international has been excluded from first-team duties at Wolfsburg with a view to cashing in on his services in January.
Long-term admirers Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have been credited with interest for the World Cup winner this month, but according to German outlet Bild, Sevilla could make a surprise raid for the talented attacker.
The La Liga side have won the Europa League for the past three seasons, and their qualification to the Champions League knock-outs this term puts them in a good financial position ahead of the winter transfer window.
Draxler, 23, joined Wolfsburg from Schalke in the summer of 2015, despite being the subject of transfer bids from both Arsenal and Juventus.
